Byeeeee black tie! You’re the classiest attire we know, but couples are starting to create their own wedding dress codes, and it’s so much more fun. This doesn’t mean tuxes are retired forever — our favorite riff on the trend is themed attire for the welcome party or rehearsal dinner and normal formal for the ceremony.
For their rehearsal dinner, Greg and Rachel told their guests to dress in “Cowboy Cocktail” attire, also know as fancy boots, bolo ties, and Yellowstone vibes. (Social Graces Events / Anne Rhett Photography)
Two rules apply:
Channel content you love (like “Best Western” if you’re in love with Yellowstone) or something that alludes to your venue (perhaps “Sailor Chic” for a party at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum?) Whatever you scheme, provide examples or a vision board, so your elderly guests aren’t left scratching their heads at all this newfangled fashion.
