50th Anniversary of the U.S. Naval Academy's presentation of their Spring Oratorio

The 50th Anniversary of the U.S. Naval Academy's presentation of their Spring Oratorio (major choral-orchestral work) and Dr. Aaron Smith, Chairman, USNA Department of Music will be conducting Benjamin Britten's WAR REQUIEM at one of the nation's premier concert halls.
This is truly a unique work:
One of the most significant compositions of the 20th Century
Written about the destruction of war
A Sacred "Requiem" text interwoven with poetry of a WW1 soldier killed in action
One of the most difficult works in the entire repertoire
We are approaching the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in June
We are inviting several WWII veterans to speak about the war prior to the concert
The performance will be very unique in that over 300 civilian and military musicians from across the branches of the Armed Forces--along with Grammy-Award winning soloists performing this poignant and monumental masterpiece. The performers will include:

Baltimore Choral Arts SOciety (100 voices)
Peabody Children's Chorus (75 voices)
U.S. Naval Academy Band---Winds and Brass (21 players)
U.S. Air Force Academy Band - (19 players)
Various Navy Fleet Bands (10 players)
Annapolis Symphony Orchestra String Section-- (44 players)
Grammy-Award Winning Soloists (3 voices)
More than 500 midshipmen from USNA will be invited to attend
The concert is FREE and open to the public.
